Going BEYOND THE PAGE
For decades, short fiction has inspired independent and Hollywood film and TV series adaptations. TDS wishes to continue this time-honored tradition by providing our writers an opportunity to have their work crafted for the screen. To do this, the initiative of "Beyond the Page" goes even further.
In the beginning, going "Beyond the Page" meant that TDS would produce a podcast of the written word, that poems would be made into folk songs. But now, "Beyond the Page" has transformed into an initiative that endeavors to build a bridge between writers and industry professionals (agents, producers, directors, and so on) for the sole purpose of uplifting the writing community, which includes fiction writers, poets, and screenwriters.
Unlike the typical magazine publishing model, where content is published once and then... forgotten, TDS always looks for ways to uplift our writers - to do more for their overall careers. Thus, "Beyond the Page" dares to dream big, with the rewards going directly to the authors.
To accomplish this goal, EIC Bre Stephens has offered a free digital subscription to all industry professionals. If the professional finds something of interest, he or she simply contacts Bre, who will then make introductions. It's that simple! All conversations beyond introductions are between the author and industry professional only.
TDS does not seek nor expect any benefits (monetary or otherwise) from this initiative. Uplifting others is its own rewards!
